Can the Homeowner live the house during the Shortsale?
It is typically preferable that the homeowner remain living in the property during the shortsale. A vacant property can, and sometimes does attract undesirable attention to the property which can result in A/C units being stolen or even vandalism.
There are also special programs that we may be able to qualify the homewoner for if they are still living in the home. Of instance, the HAFA program offers the homeowner a cash incentive for shortselling in stead of having the bank foreclose, if the property is the primary residence and the homeowner is still living in the home.
